Charlotte and Jacob’s Sunny Wedding at Kedleston Country House, Derbyshire
Last weekend I had the absolute joy of photographing my lovely friends Charlotte and Jacob as they tied the knot in beautiful Derbyshire. Honestly, it was one of those days that just felt right—full of sunshine, laughter, and so much love. From their faith-filled ceremony in the heart of Derby to golden-hour portraits out in the countryside, it was a dream from start to finish.
The day kicked off at St Werburgh’s Church on Friar Gate—a beautiful church tucked away in Derby city centre. Charlotte and Jacob’s ceremony was full of heartfelt moments, lots of beaming smiles and many many jokes made.
After they said their "I do’s," we hopped in the coach and took the drive out to Kedleston Country House, just on the edge of Quarndon. Think rolling countryside views, manicured gardens, a Georgian house and a reception space filled with natural light—it’s an absolute dream for a relaxed summer wedding.
The vibe for the day was chilled and joyful, with simple, elegant details that perfectly suited the setting. The team at Kedleston were amazing—super friendly and helpful!
One of my favourite parts of the day was sneaking off with Charlotte and Jacob for a few golden-hour portraits just as the sun started to dip behind the hills. That soft evening light, the quiet countryside, and two people totally wrapped up in each other—it’s the kind of moment I live for as a photographer. Natural, relaxed, and totally in the moment.
As the sun set, the celebrations kicked up a notch with live music from The Distractions—a brilliant band who absolutely nailed it! The dance floor was packed and everyone was just having the best time.
I feel so lucky to have been part of it and to capture all those little in-between moments that make the day uniquely theirs.
If you're planning a wedding in Derbyshire and are on the hunt for a wedding photographer—I’d love to hear from you.
